Stayed January 2017 : We stayed at this resort and really enjoyed our time. The location is close enough to town for grabbing groceries by bike, or visiting other restaurants and shops, yet it is peaceful and feels like you are away from the busyness. We found lots to do at the resort from the 3 swimming pools, free yoga on the pier, kayaks and bikes to use, amazing little spa right at the waters edge, three different restaurants, and excursions to go on. While the resort is obviously not new, the place is very clean and has a great authentic feel. We swam/played daily in the ocean, which was very clean and beautiful. While we did see a couple small spots that they are obviously trying to manage erosion with black mesh plastic (not metal), the beach is clean and mostly wonderful sand both in and out of the water. Our suite was well equipped and really right on the beach! We did not need the AC but left the windows and doors open for a nice breeze, and occasionally turned on the ceiling fans. In the back bedroom we did occasionally use the AC and it worked very well. We found all the staff to be very helpful. We will definitely be back!

Stayed Feb 2017 : We had an upper level one bedroom with a view of the ocean. It was spacious and loved the view. We had dinner their twice which were both excellent. Valentines day dinner on the beach was especially nice. In terms of the 'vibe' it was mostly families and older people but if you wanted night life Placencia is literally 5 minutes away. The grounds were perfect and the staff was excellent. We did a dive through the dive shop which was a highlight of our trip, and we had access to bicycles any time of the day. In addition, everyone we met that stayed their was super friendly, sharing their experiences and what they did each day!! We toured the rest of the property and it does seem part of the property needs some updating, but our experience was perfect!!
