Stayed April 2016 : We spent under a week on Isla San Jose, but it was very rejuvenating. We arrived on a small plane from the national airport near Albrook, in Panama city, after about 40 minutes of flight. We were met plane-side by the resort manager who promptly took us to the resort which was about 30 minutes away. The resort was nice, but had clearly been around for several years. The old walkways are boarded over, but the new paths are well maintained and easy to follow. The resort offers day and night excursions, though we just spent the days lounging on the quiet beach and swinging in the hammocks poolside. We paid for the breakfast with the room and then ate other meals from their menu. The prices were fairly reasonable for an island resort. We averaged about $150 per day for two people, but that includes adult beverages. The main lodge had good wifi coverage with average speeds, which was much more than I expected. I recommend this resort if you want to spend a lot of peaceful hours on the beach. If you are looking for action/adventure, this probably isn't the place for you.

Stayed July 2016 / We stayed 3 nights in the Admiral Suite, for a whale-watching tour. Everything was excellent and the level of care provided was outstanding. The staff was gracious and extremely accommodating. Our boat captain, Hyro, was very adept at piloting his craft as well as finding sea life to point out to us. The grounds are lovely and meticulously cared for. Mother nature chips in to make the experience even more memorable. Flora and fauna are beautiful and abundant. The Ylang Ylang tree above the Admiral smells so lovely and wafts over the entire area. Food and service at the restaurant was great as well! Wait staff did not speak English, but tried, very hard and managed very well to understand us and our needs. Everything was clean and we could not have enjoyed our stay more! We hope we may have the chance to return.
